storytimeUsing the Sitter Service

Our sitters will look after your child/ren (or young person) in your home, letting you got out. The sitter will play, read, do crafts or games, or just relax with your children, as appropriate.

Sitters go through a selection and training/induction procedure before being introduced to your family; we take up two references and a medical reference, and ask for an Enhanced Disclosure. We try to match you with a sitter who gets on well with you and your family.

Sits are usually fortnightly or monthly, for up to four hours, and can be daytime or evening, depending on the arrangement you make with firsthand and the sitter. We offer the service for a year in the first instance.

If you think a sitter would make a difference for your family, you can contact us by phone, by email or by writing to us. You don’t have to wait for someone to apply on your behalf. We will send you an information leaflet and an application form. Once we have received your application form, we will get in touch with you to arrange a home visit.

Or click here for the application form which you can print off and post to us.
