Over 30% of the funding for firsthand comes from grant-giving bodies. There are opportunities to maintain the core work of the organisation; and to support innovative development.
In both core work and new projects we are working to respond effectively to requests for our help and meet the demands of good practice. Feedback from parents and children is that firsthand makes a real difference to them, giving free space they did not have for unwinding and self-development. Feedback from professionals, including social workers and GPs, is that our work is preventative, reducing social isolation and stress, strengthening the family unit within the community.
