Management committee
firsthand is managed by a committee made up of service users, volunteer sitters/befrienders, and other people who are committed to our work.
The Management Committee
- takes legal responsibility for the work of the organisation — members are Directors of the Company and Charity Trustees
- acts as employer for firsthand staff
- ensures the organisation is financially viable and that money is properly accounted for
- decides policy
- ensures the work is carried out to meet the stated aims and objectives
- plans for future development.
The Committee meets once every two months, on the second Tuesday of the month, from 7.15–9.00pm. Committee sub-groups meet occasionally, for instance for Finance and Personnel, and for Fundraising.
