…is a voluntary organisation. We run services for:
- one parent families
- families affected by disability
- young disabled people.
firsthand services include our sitter service, befriending scheme and groups for children and young people on Saturdays. Our aims are to:
- provide positive experiences for children and young people
- let parents have free time for themselves they could not otherwise have
- and give people a satisfying volunteering experience
firsthand works within the city of Edinburgh. We have some paid staff but also rely on volunteers to deliver our services. The organisation is supported by the City of Edinburgh Council, grant-making trusts, individual donors and other fundraising activities.
